Tonight’s the night! The wait is finally over as ‘The Pillowman’ kicks off in the UEA Studio this evening.
Director Ant Cule’s intense production is playing until Friday, with tickets costing just £3.50 for students or £5 full price.
Writing for the program notes, Cule said: “This is a play that I have loved for a long time, ever since I read it in my school days, but that’s beside the point. I was frankly awestruck when I read it; to me it is everything a play should be – by turns hilarious and tragic; beautiful and horrific; a comment on the art of story telling, and a brilliant story driven by brilliant characters. There is so much I could say about this play, but it really speaks best for itself.”
The show stars Lucy Brassell (‘Night At The Musicals’), Jack Swain (‘Road’), Ed Yelland (‘Tales From The Vienna Woods’) and Jon Allen (‘The Real Inspector Hound’), as well as a fantastic ensemble including Shey Hargreaves, George Chandler, Maria Kivinen, Katherine Buckle, Eleanor Scarfe, Jasmine Blackborrow, Jenny Woods and Ali Wilson. Paul Baston serves as Assistant Director, with Hannah Wranosky as Producer and Josh Fox as Stage Manager.
The show kicks off at 7:30pm tonight, Wednesday 21st April, and continues Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd. Don’t miss out – it’s the last Minotaur show of the 2009/10 year, and unlike anything else we’ve produced this year…
