It’s time… time for the fifth Psychosocial Gathering Newsletter! It’s the end of rehearsals, and we’ll all be heading up to Edinburgh later TODAY!

The Psychosocial Gathering, Edfringe 2014!

The WeFund reached its deadline a few days ago, bringing our final total up to £1,304! A massive thank you goes to all of our sponsors who gave so generously to this project. On behalf of all the cast and crew, we thank you! In fact, we’ve started to think about the rewards we offered you upon donation. If you received free tickets to Edinburgh, you’ll be able to pick these up on the door on the day you’ve told us. Signed posters were also posted out to you yesterday if you gave us your address, if not, they’ll be there for you in Edinburgh.

Like I mentioned last week, here’s a full list of the Sponsor Suggested Props. Keep an eye our for them during the performance, and see if you can spot all four:

Our final fundraiser of the year was a huge success: we foretold futures and made over 300 balloon hats, animals and flowers. It raised over £450 towards our show, so we’re very grateful for the opportunity from the Events office in UEA’s Union of Students. That brings our fundraising total to £1,746.21, that’s over £3,000 including the WeFund. It’s a truly incredible total and a true testament to the passion of the cast and crew towards this project, which they’ve continually shown throughout the rehearsal period.

In our continuing battle with publicity, our Psychosocial Gathering stickers are here and we’ve finished making the Programmes to give out during the performance. We’ve boxed up our fliers and posters so they’ll survive the trip in the van on the six-hour drive from Norwich to Edinburgh.

Norwich has been our home for the last few weeks, and it was only right that we performed The Psychosocial Gathering at UEA once before we left. It was also a great chance to receive some feedback from around forty audience members. With their help and comments, we’ve spent the last few days tweaking and chopping short sections of the script to give it that extra lift that it needed before we perform in Edinburgh for the first time on the 1st August. We’ve uploaded a whole host of photos from the Preview to Facebook here.

One final note before we leave, we’ve presold fifty tickets already, plus another twenty tickets for our sponsors. We’ve even had requests from various publications, asking if their reviewers can come and see the show. We look forward to what they have to say! There will be another two Newsletters from now: one half way through the run and then another when we’re all done in Edinburgh letting you know how the whole thing went.
