New Poetry Slam

On the 24th November this month, Minotaur Theatre Company hosted an evening of New Poetry, hosted by the Birdcage Norwich. A wonderful time was had by all! It was a great opportunity for our company to do something different and take our work off campus and into Norwich city!

The evening featured a variety of poems penned by poetry enthusiasts within Minotaur, as well as special guests. It offered a respectful, supportive atmosphere for poems ranging from the silly to the serious; all to be enjoyed with a pint in hand. There was also a poetry slam battle where the audience decided on a topic and the top ranking poets improvised a poem and it was up to the audience to vote on who the winner would be.

Thank you to everyone who went along to the New Poetry Slam! It was a fantastic evening and we look forward to doing one again in the future. Congratulations to everyone who was involved and a special well done to Mide Sutobo who won the Slam! She stunned the audience with her powerful creative poems that made the audience freeze in admiration.

See you at the next one!
